This Privacy Policy explains how No Worry Tingxie (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use noworrytingxie.com, app.noworrytingxie.com, and related services (the “Service”).

The Service helps parents prepare Mandarin 听写 (tingxie / dictation) practice for their children. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

No Worry Tingxie is operated for families in Singapore and similar markets. For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address and authentication details (email/password or Google sign-in)
  • Profile details you choose to provide, such as child first name or nickname, school, and grade level

Learning content you upload or create

  • Photos of tingxie / spelling lists that you upload
  • Extracted vocabulary (Chinese characters, pinyin, English meanings) and list settings (for example, whether a word is a pinyin-writing item)
  • Practice and test activity needed to run the Service

Technical and usage data

  • Device/browser type, approximate region, and diagnostic logs
  • Product analytics and (on the web app) session insights used to improve reliability and UX
  • Cookies or similar storage required for login sessions and analytics

We do not ask for payment card details in the free beta. If paid plans are introduced later, payment data will be handled by our payment processor and described in an updated Policy.

3. How we use information

  • Create and secure your account
  • Extract word lists from uploaded photos and generate practice audio, pinyin, meanings, stroke-order help, and mock tests
  • Save and sync your lists across sessions
  • Personalise experience (for example, grade-related defaults)
  • Monitor performance, fix bugs, and understand how features are used
  • Communicate about the Service (account, security, and product updates)
  • Comply with law and protect the Service against abuse

4. Children’s privacy

The Service is designed for parents and guardians to set up practice. Children may use practice/test features under a parent’s account. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 without parental involvement. Please use a nickname rather than a child’s full legal name where possible, and avoid uploading photos that contain unnecessary personal information (for example, faces or ID documents).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service, under appropriate safeguards, including:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting
  • Google — if you choose “Sign in with Google”; also Google Analytics on the marketing site
  • Cloudflare — website/app hosting, API proxying, and bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile may process technical signals (such as IP address, TLS fingerprint, and User-Agent) solely to distinguish humans from bots. For details, see Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • OpenAI — processing uploaded list images to extract vocabulary (via our backend; we do not use your content to train our own models)
  • Text-to-speech providers — generating Mandarin audio for practice
  • PostHog — product analytics and session insights on the web app

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in Singapore and other countries (including the United States or EU regions, depending on the vendor). Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with applicable Singapore PDPA expectations.

7. Retention

We keep account, profile, and list data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing [email protected]. We may retain limited records where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law (including Singapore’s PDPA), you may:

  • Access or correct personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account/data
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Stop using Google sign-in by using email/password instead, or by deleting your account

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your login details private.

10. Marketing site and cookies

The marketing site at noworrytingxie.com may use Google Analytics to understand traffic. The web app may use cookies or local storage for authentication and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect sign-in or some features.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
